Georgia has been the #1 State to do Business for a decade, and Houston County has celebrated with tremendous job growth as part of that. Thanks to the conservative leadership of our state and a wise tax policy, we are reaping the benefits of a strong economy even as troubling signs are brewing nationally from mismanagement at the national level.
Georgia is ahead of the game because we understand that education is workforce development. We have worked diligently to make sure our students who utilize the dual enrollment program are ready to take their place in the workforce.

The House reduced Georgia's income tax which lets you keep more of your money in your pocket for your family, and we eased the tax burden on Georgia parents and caregivers by increasing the income tax dependent exemption.
The House is helping small business owners create jobs by simplifying Georgia's tax code by matching the business income tax rate to the individual rate.
My colleagues and I on the Joint Study Committee on Dual Enrollment for Highly Skilled Talent at Younger Ages have begun to simplify the Dual Enrollment Program in our schools. We created the ACE grant program to streamline funding and make it easier to understand, and we mandated the creation of a list of high demand career fields so our educators can help our teens make sound career decisions.
